Review:
Here’s one for a star-spangled look at tomorrow’s stars.
The 2011 Topps Team USA boxed set is here, with players from the collegiate, U18 and U16
teams making up a 61 card set, all featured in the red, white and blue of their home country. The
cards are simple, yet classic in their design, with while borders and small names being used to
emphasize the player over the card layout. For some of the teenagers in the set (including some
visible braces on teeth), seeing their face on cardboard is thrill enough, but the way Topps
presents them makes these kids feel special.
The real box value, however, is in all of the hits. With an advertised seven autographs and three relic cards (or eight and three,
in this case), the amount of future potential is through the roof. There are parallels included here, including some red ink
variations.
This is a set to put aside and allow time for it to grow. The next big thing could very easily be lurking somewhere in the product,
making this a must-own for all prospectors and baseball fans alike........................
