Review:
I've beaten my feelings for the 2009 Topps base set over everyone's head, so this is going to be a short
review.
I love the 2009 set. I love all of the inserts, especially, Turkey Red and Legends of the Game. I really, really
love the new insert of Propaganda Posters, whcih I think could really make this set one of Topps' best in a
long time. How do you top a near-perfect set? By adding something over the top that is fantastic and fun to
collect, of course.
Parallels? Check, as always. Boxtoppers? Sure, why not a little added bonus value to the box. Relics and
autos? One per box, but totally unnecessary in a product like this. Look, I pulled TWO different Babe Ruth
inserts - that is the sign of a great product...making cards that collectors will appreciate (although I might
have used different pictures for the cards, but I quibble with that complaint).
I'd call this product flawless. This is base set making at its absolute finest, and sends the 2009 set out on the highest note
possible. Let's hope Topps can keep it up in 2010 (although I have no reason to ever doubt them...........
A+
