Here it is. The set that makes "Chromies" go nuts every fall.
2005 Bowman Draft Picks and Prospects is here, featuring the rookie cards of some
of the biggest prospects in baseball, along with a multitude of parallels to make the
holiday gift list of player collectors and prospects full.
The gist of this set is the same as always - black, color coded cards (red for vets,
green for prospects, blue for rookie cards), with the same set design as the
Bowman set released this summer. . And, as always with this set, you get seven
cards spanning two sets...four basic cards, two chrome and, for good measure, a
basic gold parallel. We all know where the attention is drawn, though. It is the Chrome, and the
various refractors and autographs, that drive the sale of boxes of this. It is a tried and true
formula that, rightfully, should not be tinkered with.
Rookie card collectors will tell you this is their favorite product of the year. Other collectors will
tell you this is the set they use to learn about the potential stars of tomorrow. I will tell you to go
check out a box.......................
