July 20 - 2005 Upper Deck Baseball 'Mini Jersey' Collection

Upper Deck Keeps Collectors in Touch with the National Pastime

Carlsbad, CA (July 20, 2005) — With the 2005 MLB pennant races starting to heat up and the Red Sox
and Yankees embroiled in yet another nail-biting American League Eastern Division battle, Upper
Deck's 2005 Baseball Mini Jersey Collection trading card release is one more way the industry’s trading
card leader gets hardball fans and collectors in touch with the game they love!

This beautifully designed trading card set is comprised of 70 regular player cards along with two 15-
card subsets: ‘’Jersey Evolution,” which chronicles the design of the baseball jersey from its earliest
beginnings until now, covering teams like the Atlanta Braves, New York Yankees and San Francisco
Giants; and ‘’Mid-Summer Classic Moments,” which highlights unforgettable plays and developments
stemming from MLB’s annual All-Star Game. Two key All-Star moments include the 1949 game at
Ebbets Field in Brooklyn in which Cleveland Indians standout Larry Doby was selected to play as one of
the first African Americans to participate in the Mid-Summer Classic, to the 2000 battle at Turner Field in
Atlanta where Derek Jeter became the first Yankees player ever to be named MVP of the All-Star Game.

But what truly sets this release apart from all the rest is that nearly 30 different players’ jersey are
featured and utilized as part of the mini jerseys insert lineup. That’s right, actual ‘’Mini Replica Jersey”
spotlighting baseball's best current players such as Vladimir Guerrero, Curt Schilling, Roger Clemens,
Alex Rodriguez and Albert Pujols are inserted one per pack, with special retro flannel ‘’Throwback
Jerseys’’ honoring the likes of Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Ty Cobb, Jackie Robinson, Satchel Paige and
Ted Williams packaged one per retail box! A terrific lineup of autographed “Signature Mini Jerseys”
inserts caps off the outstanding chase element in this collection with actual signatures coming from
superstars like Ken Griffey Jr., David Wright, Miguel Cabrera, Johan Santana, Adrian Beltre and Derek
Jeter. The latter inserts are packaged 1:360 packs. Each retail box of 2005 Upper Deck Baseball – Mini
Jersey Collection is priced at $125.99. Every retail box boasts 18 packs, with four cards (including one
mini Replica Jersey insert) per pack. Individual packs retail for $6.99 each.

May 18 - Upper Deck Presents a Legendary Tribute With 2005 Hall Of Fame Baseball

Look for redemption cards for one of two framed “Legendary Lineups” pieces featuring nine autographs
of the greatest living ballplayers at each position or nine “cut signatures” of the greatest now-deceased
Hall of Famers by position!

Carlsbad Ca, (May 18, 2005) – Throughout the history of Major League
Baseball, its stars have come in various shapes and sizes, from different
backgrounds and eras, all resulting in a diverse collection of ballplayers
who have helped mold the game we know today. Upper Deck’s 2005 Hall
of Fame Baseball collection provides collectors an exclusive look at the
greatest ballplayers, moments and careers of all-time through a unique
assortment of autographs, memorabilia and cut signatures.

The complete 100-card regular set highlights the most collectible players enshrined in the National
Baseball Hall of Fame. The lineup includes 85 common cards and a 15-card subset of Hall of Fame
Placards featuring those players’ Hall of Fame plaque images, all numbered to just 550.  Green, silver,
gold and rainbow parallel versions of the regular set all serial numbered to various levels add plenty of
low-numbered chases for collectors.

"Hall of Fame Baseball stands out first and foremost as a collection that chronicles baseball's most
legendary players," said Product Manager Gregg Kohn. "When you start with a checklist that includes
only Hall of Famers, it's hard to go wrong. Add to that a series of autographs, game-used memorabilia
and cut signatures, all numbered to 25 or less, plus the two “Legendary Lineups” framed pieces that
each feature nine autographs from the greatest players of all-time, you have a set that presents the
finest vintage players in an ultra-collectible context."

The heart-and-soul components of the 2005 Hall of Fame Baseball insert
lineup are the aptly themed sets with names like “Class of Cooperstown,”
“Hall Worthy,” “Cooperstown Calling,” “Hall of Fame Seasons” and
“Essential Enshrinement.” All of the regular versions of these sets are
multi-tiered and include a checklist featuring only Hall of Fame players.
The base version of each set is numbered to 50 with parallel versions in
most cases numbered to 15, five and 1-of-1; however, it’s not the base
versions that most collectors will be eager to get their hands on.  With
each collectible tin including at least one autographed insert card numbered to 25 or less, it’s the
autographed, autographed game-used and autographed patch cards that will keep hobbyists coming
back again and again. The autographed inserts sets feature signatures and/or memorabilia from only
the best players ever.  Players like Nolan Ryan, Mike Schmidt, George Brett, Stan Musial and Ernie
Banks will be featured prominently in each and every set.

One of the unique sets found in this immaculate collection is the “Signs of Cooperstown,” which
features dual, triple and quad cards including autographed versions of each numbered to 20 or less.
Some of the highlights of this set include pairings like: Ryne Sandberg/Wade Boggs, Nolan Ryan/Tom
Seaver, Bob Gibson/Ozzie Smith/Stan Musial, Brooks Robinson/George Brett/Mike Schmidt and Carlton
Fisk/Gary Carter/Johnny Bench/Yogi Berra.

Among the higher-end sets in this collection are the “Cooperstown Cuts” and “Cooperstown Cuts
Memorabilia” ones. Each cut signature card features a deceased player’s autograph and many include
game-used swatches as well. All are numbered to 20 or less and the checklist reads like a “Who’s
Who?” in baseball history: Mickey Mantle, Cy Young, Jackie Robinson, Lou Gehrig, Ty Cobb, Honus
Wagner, Christy Mathewson and Babe Ruth, to name a few.

If all these set variations aren’t enough, Upper Deck unveils a first of its kind framed collectible piece
that is sure to get hobbyists talking. “Legendary Lineups” consists of two framed redemption pieces
featuring nine autographs of the greatest living ballplayers at each position and nine cut signatures of
the greatest now-deceased Hall of Famers by position. Imagine having signatures of names such as Al
Kaline, Harmon Killebrew, Ryan, Bench, Schmidt and Banks, or better yet, Ruth, Cobb, Roy Campanella,
Gehrig and Wagner in one collectible piece. Even the most seasoned collector will have to pick his jaw
up off the floor when he pulls one of these.

Upper Deck’s 2005 Hall of Fame Baseball, offering the greatest baseball names ever assembled in a
collection highlighted by the best in vintage memorabilia and autographs – including one autographed
insert card numbered to 25 or less in each tin – hits shelves this July with a suggested retail price of
$150.00 per tin.

March 22 - THE UPPER DECK COMPANY TEAMS UP WITH LITTLE LEAGUE® BASEBALL FOR SECOND
ANNUAL NATIONAL RIP INTO IT & WIN PROGRAM

One Hardworking Little League® Team Will Earn the Chance To Participate In A Clinic Hosted By
Cincinnati Reds Outfielder Ken Griffey, Jr.

CARLSBAD, CA. (March 22, 2005) – It’s time to break in new mitts and swing the bats as The Upper
Deck Company, the “official trading card company of Little League Baseball”, today announced plans for
its second annual national sponsorship of Little League Baseball.  Upper Deck and Little League
Baseball entered into an exclusive multi-year deal in 2004 designed to teach youngsters the value of
playing baseball and introducing the teams to baseball card collecting.  In addition, Upper Deck will be
sponsoring its second consecutive national wrapper redemption program titled Rip Into It & Win during
the 2005 Little League Baseball season whereby one lucky Little League team will win the chance to
participate in a baseball skills clinic hosted by Cincinnati Reds slugger Ken Griffey, Jr.

The national sponsorship program will run from March 4 through July 31, 2005.  In addition to the
amazing skills clinic, weekly prizes such as baseball gear, autographed memorabilia, videogames, and
CD players will be awarded to the teams that send in the most weekly wrappers.  Additionally, the
program also supports the leagues that have the most teams involved in the promotion – the Top Four
leagues will receive top-of-the-line pitching machines.  Upper Deck will also provide concession booth
operators and league managers with the opportunity to sell Upper Deck baseball cards.

“Little League Baseball is excited to be partnering with Upper Deck and carry forward the momentum
gained from last year’s program," said Stephen D. Keener, president and CEO of Little League
Baseball.  "Trading baseball cards is an activity directly tied to the history and tradition of baseball, and
serves as fun for both children and adults alike.  Upper Deck's partnership will provide local Little
Leagues a good opportunity for fundraising while helping to keep their affiliation fees as low as
possible.”

The Rip Into It & Win program encourages Little League teams across the country to purchase and
submit their wrappers from 2005 Upper Deck Baseball Trading Cards for the opportunity to win the
Grand Prize of a clinic with Ken Griffey, Jr.  The clinic will provide the winning team with a once in a
lifetime chance to meet the Cincinnati Reds outfielder and experience the drills utilized by professional
players.  Upper Deck will post weekly results and standings at www.ripintoit.com where teams can track
their performance.  In 2004, the AAA Tucson Diablos enjoyed their once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to learn
from one of Major League Baseball’s biggest stars, Griffey, Jr. at Disney’s Wide World of Sports™
Complex in Orlando, Florida.  Each member of the team received hands on instruction from the latest
member of MLB’s 500 Home Run club.

“Our partnership with Little League Baseball continues to reinforce our commitment to bring kids and
their families closer to the game of baseball through sports trading cards,” said Louise Curcio, vice
president of marketing for Upper Deck.  “Our goal is to bring the sport of collecting baseball cards back
to kids.”

To enter the Rip Into It & Win promotion, Little League Baseball teams must submit entries and
wrappers to Upper Deck via U.S. Mail.  Weekly results and standings will be posted on the www.ripintoit.
com so teams can track their performance.  For more information on Upper Deck products please visit
