Gonna do something a little different in the MOTY Talk Snapshot for Week 6. Instead of highlighting upwards of 50 players in one breakdown – both climbing and falling in overall fantasy value – we’re going to break the Snapshot into two posts.
First, in this one, we’ll offer a quick list of “Hot” players and “Not” players, one per position for each league. Again, focusing on guys who may be available in your league or prime trade targets/bait. Of course, you can find more players heating up or cooling down, based on their MOTY#s, by hopping between the weekly rankings for YTD, MTD and Last Week at fantasybaseballmoty.com
Then, after giving you a day or few to digest the “Hot/Not” players, we’ll post a follow up MOTY Talk — since we’re almost 25% of the way through the season, we’ll examine players shaping up as potential 2006 Rookie of the Year, Comeback Player and Breakout Player candidates.
But first, the Hot/Not players in each league.
American League – Hot: The story lies in the marked improvement in Last Week (LW) MOTY#. Key to this list is that these players may be on the wire in your league – or prime trade targets if they scuffled early in the season, leading to disappointing YTD MOTY#s.
American League – Not: The insight here is found in the stark decline in Last Week (LW) MOTY#. Key to this list is that these guys are almost certainly on a roster in your league, especially yours, and maybe down trending … toward the bench for a while or (maybe) as trade bait.
