Review:
The third and final installment of the 2008 Topps base set is here and, what a shock, it kicks butt.

Not much can really be said that hasn’t already about this set. This is Topps’ bread and butter, and they
continue to knock each set out of the park. From updated player photos on new teams, to 2008 Season
and All-Star Game highlights, a nice recap of the regular season is provided to collectors, enabling them
to put a nice bow on their 2008 set.

Anything else I can really say is minor quibbling, but these things do add up this time around. All of my
Gold Parallels and my Black Parallel feature printing issues, with coloring not lined up properly. The 2007
Year In Review insert set continues, which isn’t really necessary at this point (and could easily have been
replaced by the awesome Trading Card History inserts from the two previous installments). And please,
someone talk to the collation department – not only did I not get a relic or autograph, but some packs had nine cards in it,
others had eleven.

The minor things will keep this from getting that sterling grade I gave to Series 1 and Series 2, but doesn’t really knock it down
too far. In all, there is nothing wrong with this product, and is a great way for Topps to wrap up this year’s base set. I am
already anxious to see the 2009s........................
